Camping

Do you like furry camping cons, like our sister con Feral!? well, then you will love Abando! This year our theme is "UFO Hunters!" how many can you catch?

Under the hot Brazilian summer of March, join our yearly celebration that gathers Brazilian furries at a special place. Aband is set in a private countryside home located in São Roque, close to São Paulo, Brazil, to keep you in tune with the native rain forest nature.

We have activities like lake swimming, water ballon rugby, bodypainting, frisbee, foam bat battles, treasure hunt, and campfire. You also have plenty of room to chill either among fellow campers or on your own to hike or just relax.

Brazilians are famous to be a welcoming bunch, and furries are no exception. Our family can't wait to meet you and show what we're made of! The main goal here is making you feel at home!

Abando 2010 - Attendees

Let's eat!

Om nom nom nom, 4 meals a day plus snacks, all typical Brazilian meals that are hard not to love. You'll be baffled on how good steamed rice can taste and we have all delicious kinds of stews to go with it. Oh, there's campfire barbeque. You know, actually from the fire. Good times!

Dealers room

Even a small country, some artists will love to show you their art (and maybe sell!). Our currency, Real, is pretty affordable and you'll notice a better price for most everything, including the dealer's room. Two members of our staff live in Canada, so small quantities of Canadian Dollars can be exchanged on site.

Fursuits?

You know there's never too many fursuits in a furry con. If you have one, please bring it. We'll love it and have plus extra parades with it. :) Just remember, It's March and Brazil is pretty hot... *cough* we're talking about the weather. :)

Let's Party!!

Oh! We are not there just to rest and to eat. We are famous for our nightlife, particularly in these special Mardi Gras times, and Abando participates in a very special way. Let's dance until we collapse on our special outdoor rave! Don't be shy, show everybody how your paws and tail move on the ground!

Portuguese?

The local language is very similar to Spanish and resembles French and Italian a lot too. Have fun learning a word or two, and don't forget to thank whoever helped you: "Obrigado!" But don't feel obliged, most campers will gladly speak English anyway. It's the universal language. Everyone in the staff speaks English as well, and we'll help you find your way in and out of São Paulo.
